The Tracy Arm Inlet excursion was amazing. Highly recommend. I saw two black bears, coastal mountain goats, harbor seals, steller seals, many whales, and a large variety of birds-- not to mention gorgeous terrain. The Skagway/Whitepass Train, however, is really only for those who have not lived in mountainous states such as Montana, Colorado, and Oregon. The train tour guides were great, but I

The cruise and ports were fantastic. The food was average at best. Avoid the Lido market use the dining room instead. Do not buy the Coca-Cola package…it is a total rip off there is no place to get co*ke onboard other than a lounge where if you ask for a co*ke they get real annoyed. Our room stewards were the best part of the trip. Service in the Lido Market was poor. This is the second time we

After 10 cruises with HA we were eager for #11. Unfortunately our cabin had a continuing awful sewerage smell that maintenance could not eliminate. We were offered the “only” available room as an option— Deck 1 interior at stern. We declined and kept our original room and stayed out as much as possible. At night we had the balcony door open a couple of inches for fresh air which made the smell

This is our second cruise with Holland America to Alaska and first time on the Koningsdam. Firstly, this ship is beautiful and modern. All areas were spotless and public areas were all comfortable. The Entertainment Director, Grant, was always seen with a smile and energetic in the events he was running. All staff was friendly and keenly interested in conversing with us and always making sure that

Embarkation and debarkation in Vancouver went really well for our cruise on the Koningsdam. The Crew were the best. Very attentive and were a big plus. We had an inside room which was very good. Very functional and no sound other than voices in the hall. People need to speak softer late at night. Food was average at best. The lido buffet is too small an area. Not enough variety compared to to

Good ship and crew but not top of the line service

The cruise experience starts with the embarkation process. The embarkation process took about 45-60 minutes, a significant improvement from our last H.A. cruise in 2018. There was a bit of a back-up to drop bags and some time waiting in snaking lines to get our photos taken and passports verified. Our verandah cabin was very clean, reasonably spacious and had a bathroom and shower where we did not

One of the best cruises ever. Excellent ship, cabin, and itinerary. We were so happy with the main dining room we never ate at a specialty restaurant. Of the 7 evening main courses, I would rate 5 as excellent, 1 okay, and 1 disappointing (the prime rib). Very good wine choices. Generally good service. One disappointment was lack of interesting activities. 2 small pools, few diversions

First of all I would say we had a wonderful time on the cruise. Our room attendant, Yudi, was great. Some of the things that were not up to par in my opinion1. the food overall was good, but the ship was constantly running out of or did not have available for serving at various times; bacon, ranch dressing, coffee, coffee cups, syrup, waffles, cones for ice cream.2. Service for

Disappointing Alaska Cruise on Westerdam

The overall cruise experience was disappointing mostly due to dining. The food options are very limited and crowded. The catch all is the Lido which is a buffet mostly. It's always very crowded with lots of dirty tables so open tables are very difficult to find. The lines for food at Lido are always long and slow. There is only one specialty coffee option on the ship and it's very slow with

First time on a Pinnacle class ship and the Rotterdam did not disappoint. Embarkation was very simple with priority boarding given for being in a Neptune Suite. Loved our aft wrap around cabin. This afforded us great views aft and starboard to see the majestic fjords.Food was great! Rudi’s and Pinnacle Grill were treats but the Club Orange was a wonderful surprise. Great service and
