In order to pull the transmission on a honda pilot it all comes out from the bottom. You must remove the front suspension all the engine harness, pipes and hoses unbolt the suspension subframe bolts and drop the whole thing at one time. Use a suspension lift designed for this or you could drop it and loose it.

The ignition wire firing order for the 2001 Honda CRV 2.0 Ltr is 1-3-4-2, the cylinders in order are 4, 3, 2, 1, and the distributor fires at 1 to 3 for the back and 2 to 4 for the front. Also, everything rotates clockwise.

Hi the firing order for your Honda is 1 3 4 2.
No. 1 is the cylinder at the pulley end of the engine.
Honda put there engines in backwards to most front wheel drive vehicle, the pulley end is on
the right when u lift the bonet ( the hood )

Does the engine sound different when it cranks? It might be a timing belt concern? Remove the oil cap and look for the camshaft.(you might need a flashlight).Have a partner crank the engine and watch the cam. If it stays still you have a bad timing belt.Let me know what you find.
